Most of the stuff in this section was made for science fiction, but I thought I’d put these three fantasy pieces in as well. They were made for a friend’s Christmas present. The tower is made from a very large plastic cup. The Chronopia elf archer should give you a good idea of scale. Battlements were made from a cheap plastic ashtray fixed to the cup; this was (overzealously) cut with a razor saw to enlarge the gaps. The door frame and base are blueboard. Roof and door are balsa, with cardboard (from a cereal box) bands. The same cardboard was used to make the stones around the window. |

The dungeon entrance is just a blueboard hill with an entrance. I did add a piece of cardboard behind the doorway to make the surface of the ‘interior darkness” smooth. Grass is my usual unraveled cord and there are some small bushes made from green scrubbing pads as well. The skull was out of a blister pack of skulls made by Demonblade.
The runestone is also blueboard, shaped with a foam cutter. I heated an unbent paperclip over a candle and used it to burn the rune (which is from Tolkein’s Angerthas Moria). |
