Lesson # 7

Cassette Only, Released (Given Away) in 1996

Personnel:

Todd Campisi: Sideways Drums, Vocal

Kevin Lehner: Bass

Steven Bottom: Guitar, Vocals

Harry Monkhorst: Vocals, Guitar

Instruments recorded on a Tascam 234 4 track cassette recorder, using an 8 channel mixer. No condensor mics, the whole band set up in Harry's living room. We were still learning the songs, so the name of the game was watching the singer, who had to mouth the words, in order to know when the changes were coming. A lot of the endings are still not "together", but we decided it was "charming". Mixed onto a portable DAT machine, then transferred to 2 tracks of an ADAT machine. Vocals recorded at Mirror Image studios, much to the chagrin of the studio owners, who had to listen to that shit all the time. Final mix at Mirror Image, using a Yamaha ProMix and too much reverb.

Steve was playing through his Teisco amp, with his Squire Strat (red).

Harry was playing through his newly purchased Fender Twin, with his '76 strat.

Kevin was playing through his Kustom cabinet, with his killer "notefinder" bass.

Todd's drums were covered with drawer-liner paper, and the heads were in dubious shape.
