Church building constructed by the village church members with
their local resources

The church building constructed with help of partnering churches in USA.
The Presbyterian Church in India (PCI) was started in
1984 under the leadership of Rev.Vung D. Tombing. The first Reformed church of 21 families in 1984 has grown to 40 local churches with a
population of about 10,000 members. This has happened only by God's grace and mercy. Most of these local churches are located in villages. Due to the economic status of villagers they are not able to support church pastors.
The ministry of the Presbyterian Church in India is to assist these village churches financially
so that the 16 pastors who look after them may be supported.
The missionary work of the Presbyterian Church in India among the Meitei Hindus and Muslims is richly blessed by the Lord. Through four Meitei evangelists, we are reaching out to other Hindus and Muslims for Christ. These evangelists are aided much by the prayers and faith promises of the believers in our denomination. Presently, our mission agency, the Presbyterian Mission Fellowship (PMF) concentrates its outreach ministry at four strategic locations: Wangoo under Rev. W. Chaoba
Singh, Waikhurok under Evangelist Kumarjit Singh, Yaiphakol under Evangelist Kh. Apabi Singh, and
Pastor (Intern) Robin Koisnam and his family will be working with MTW at the
border of Tripura (India) and Bangledesh. The Presbyterian Church in
India also has its cross-border church planting in the Chin Hills,
Myanmar. Presently there are 12 local churches and 6 pastors.
