The Missionary Baptist Church house was erected in 1931 in
the north part of Woodville. Many of the early Baptist held their meetings
at the Methodist Church before the Baptist dwelling was built.
Some of the men in the community cut timber from the
nearby mountains to use in building the church. Mr. R.L. Jones donated the
property for the church. Mr. And Mrs. W.G. Jones and others were
instrumental in helping with the building process of the church.
In 1941, the church was enlarged. The Missionary Baptist
Church bought land in the year 2001 and began construction of a new
Baptist Church on Highway 35. It is located next to the First National Bank in Woodville.
