Original Site of The Methodist Church
-1871-

The first Methodist Church was built in 1871. It was
the only church house in Woodville at that time. The building was also
used for meetings of other denominations until they were able to build
their own churches.
The original church house no longer stands; it was in
use until 1912 when a new Methodist Church was built at a different
location.
The early original church was a wooden frame with
double doors at the entrance. It stood near an old elm tree that still
stands today on Church Street.
