Pontotoc County HFH
News from the Front Lines
In late 2004 PCHFH purchased a 20.69 acre tract of land inside the city limits of Pontotoc. This was a big leap of faith on our Affilitate's part, because the entire tract was covered in kudzu, an all-consuming vine indigenous to this area. In January 2005 we started moving dirt and clearing away the kudzu to see what we had to do to turn this acreage into a mixed income subdivision.

MS State University School of Architecture through the Carl Small Town Center designed a subdivision for 65 - 70 single family units and work began on the first two units on March 14, 2005. Water and sewer service had to be extended and roads had to be cut into the land. Finally, through the help of many volunteers and homeowner sweat-equity hours, three houses were dedicated on June 4, 2006, and a community was created.

We need help to continue our building! We need volunteers and we need funds to help finance the construction. Infrastructure is in place to serve approximately 25 building lots now, but future extensions will need to be installed within the next three years. Won't you come join in this excitement with us?

403 Circle of HopeOur most recent addition to the community, the affiliate's 30th house, was dedicated on Sunday, July 1.  The new homeowners are now enjoying their new home!
