The files that you will need to do these lessons are in the templates folder, in the Jones, Jerrilyn folder, in the Word folder, and finally in the corresponding lesson folder on the network.  You must log in with your login name to see these files.  Always put the standard school header on all your files.  Always save to the class folder in the Assignments folder first.  Then backup your files to the My Documents folder with your Login name.

 

 

Additional instructions for lessons:

Lesson 1

Draw and label the diagram on page IW – 3 on your paper.

Take notes on the bottom of page IW-4 on the 4 views in Word.

Copy in your notes the 2nd sentence of the 2nd paragraph below the figure on page IW-10

Draw the Print Preview bar at the top of page IW-11

Printing Your Document IW-11

            Draw the Print icon and the Print Preview icon that is located on the standard toolbar.

            Do not use the either of these buttons in this classroom because

                        Print icon – does not give you the print dialog box

                        Print Preview icon – students accidentally press the print icon

Step-by-step 1.8 #6 When you add the standard school header to this document, it would print to 2 pages.

Delete two blanks lines below the clip art.  Preview the document again – it should print to 1 page now.

Do the Lesson 1 questions on IW-14.

Do Project 1-1 (page IW-15) and Project 1-2 (page IW-16).

Project 2-1       #6   Never print from Print Preview because it may cause you to use the wrong printer.  You always need to make sure that it prints to only 1 page.  You may need to delete some blank lines in the middle of the document.  If you were to print this, you would want to print from the File menu.

Lesson 7

Step-by-Step 7.1  #10 You may need to make the Word Art Toolbar visible.  (Click View, Toolbars, WordArt)

Step-by-Step 7.4  #3 The dialog box will be different than the one in the book.

Search for business and find an appropriate clip to insert.

It takes a very long time for the clip art to appear.

Step-by-Step 7.5         #1 If the picture tool bar does not appear, go to view,  toolbars

#4 you will need to uncheck the box      Lock aspect ratio

Step-by-Step 7.6  #9 When you put the header using headers and footers, this will print to 2 pages.  Make it print to 1 page by using shrink to fit on the print preview toolbar.

Project 7-1 #10 To move the Word Art you may need to click on Text Wrapping, Edit the Wrap Points on the Word Art toolbar.  Then click away from the Word Art and you will be able to move it.

Use the Shrink to Fit button in Print Preview so that it will not print to 2 pages.

Step-by-Step 9.4  When you try use Headers and Footers, there will be extra lines between your name and Computer Applications.  Click on Format, Paragraph. Change the spacing after from 30 pt to 0 pt.
