Calendar

Reading will be taught using an indiviual approach. Each student will be instructed using books that will meet their needs. Some students will read decodable readers to further their ability to blend and decode all words. All students will participate in the Accelerated Reader program. Students will also be instructed in comprehension strategies using the strategies found in Mosaic of thought and Strategies That Work.

Language instruction will focus on writing skills. Students will be instructed using the Four Square writing framework. They will be expected to write every day. Students will also learn grammer skills using a Language Arts textbook.

Spelling

Students will have individual spelling lists. They will be using a program called Mastering Alphabetic Spelling. Each list will come home every Monday. Please help your child study their spelling words and write their dictation sentences.
