The Western North Carolina (WNC) Knitters & Crocheters for Others is a busy group of women who meet monthly in Black Mountain and Arden for the primary purpose of providing handmade items for others. As a side benefit, the members enjoy fellowship, pattern swapping, yarn and idea sharing, and long-term friendships. Since the club was started in 1999 by Betsy Stobbs, it has grown to over 40 members who have created and donated over 7000 items. See Current Item Count. Supporting over 20 charities with beautiful handmade afghans, baby blankets, scarves, lap blankets, hats, tracheotomy covers, and other items, this lively group enjoys showing their newest accomplishments and discussing current and future projects.
