Jessamine Plantation Shiitake is a charter member of the North Carolina Mushroom Growers Association and is affiliated with the Mushroom Program at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro. Jessamine Plantation is in its fourth year of Shiitake production, growing the delicious mushrooms on hardwood logs under a canopy of pine trees.

Shiitake has a classic mushroom shape with open white gills. Its texture is firm and slightly chewy with a delicious meaty and earthy taste. Shiitake can be eaten raw, added to your favorite recipe, or sautéed in olive oil or butter.
