This is the last fully restored WWII B24 still flying out of 18,300 that were built during the war.
This plane came into the Picken County Airport rather recently.
This plane has special meanings for
me because I was flying one just like it at Midland Army Air Base at Midland, Texas when I met and married my wife Dotty.
She was secretary to the Flight Surgeon at the base. I later flew this plane, converted to a tanker, over the Himalaya Mountains
or "The Hump" between India and China. We supplied the B29's who were bombing Japan and other planes and vehicles with gasoline.
