Master Barber 

This 1500-hour program offers training in the techniques and arts as they relate to hair cutting, shaving, massages, and trimming and styling the beard or mustache. Students learn to cut hair using razors, shears, and clippers. Instruction also includes manicuring, facials, hair styling, and hair coloring. A knowledge base in anatomy and physiology, sanitation, and salon operation is also included in the curriculum. 

Master Barber students are provided with specialized classroom instruction and basic skills required in preparation for employment in the field of Barbering. Upon completion of the program, students are qualified to take the Tennessee Master Barber License examination to become a Master Barber.

With a master barber license, they can work as barber-stylists in hair and barber salons. They can become hair/barber salon owners or managers. They can also be platform artists at hair shows or do demonstration/ workshop at beauty schools or salons. Master Barbers can also become sale representatives for beauty supplies firms, or open businesses as beauty or fashion consultants.

Barber Instructor

This 450-hour program is for licensed Master Barbers who wish to obtain a barber instructor license. This course is designed to promote professionalism in the Barbering business. It is complete in all areas of instructor training including teaching methodology, presentation, demonstration, etc. With a barber instructor license, in addition to the job possibilities for Master Barbers, they can teach in Barber schools or work as Barber Examiners.
