Welcome to The Verve Guitar Tabs at www.thevervelive.com.  I was given this site by Clark Zoeller, the site's second owner, several years ago.  As with the previous owner, Clark wished to further the creation of a place to share how to play The Verve's music.  His goal, which started as a way to learn how to play guitar, was to create an online 'song book' of The Verve's music that was as accurate as anything available commercially for other groups.  In his words "this is not to be a place for published tab, but a place to share ones own ideas."   

Clark must have spent hundreds of hours tabbing out accurate Verve songs.  He preferred Verve's earlier work and spent a good deal of time listening to many live versions of Verve's best songs, trying to get a better handle of the guitar parts.  He once said "it seems to me that many of their songs are not as improvised (though some definitely are!) as other sources will lead you to believe...at least the structure of the songs are pretty consistent."   

Clark used a program called 'Guitar-Pro,' which is a midi tab editor that lets you both hear and see how to play a song.  Essentially, one can play the 'guitar-pro' version of a tab and hear the actual what-you're-supposed-to-be-playing in the background while watching the tab.  This both verifies accuracy and helps in the learning process.     

At the time of giving me the site Clark expressed the hope that others would find his work useful.  Many in the Verve community will remember this site; having had a long and memorable history being the number one place for Verve tabs.  I am happy to be able to bring this to you once again and will gladly post new and updated tabs. 

Please contribute by sending your Verve tabs or any additional information that could help this site.  If you have any suggestions, please email them here thevervelive@gmail.com.  I have been given this site so all of the tabs here were not sent to me.  If your tabs are on this site and you do not wish to have them displayed, then please write to the address above and they will be removed.

• All existing GP4 (Guitar Pro) files can be found here.
• All existing "Live" GP4 files can be found here. 
  • Clark made these tabs from live versions of songs in order to play them better.  Some are incomplete.  A ton of time went into them.
• All Midi exported from GP4 files can be found here.
  • For convenience, you may import these Midi files (exported from "Guitar Pro") into another tab editor.  This should clear up any potential problems.  Just import them into your editor.
