Forms Processing, Inc. (FPI) - Incoming Mail Processing Center (located in the Miami, Florida facility).
FPI offers P. O. Box management and direct mail delivery to the Miami facility. Mail may be received directly at the Miami facility or retrieved from the U.S. Post Office Box. Envelopes are identified, sorted, counted, logged in and prepared for processing.
Our mail handling process is assisted by an Opex 7.5 mail opening and sorting machine capable of opening 7,500 pieces per hour. The envelops are placed into the feeder and are moved into the in-line sorter, where the envelopes are processed by their thickness. Exceptions are out-sorted for separate handling prior to mail opening. Next, cutters open the envelopes on three sides (leading edge, top and bottom). The envelopes are then peeled apart to expose the contents for automatic extraction.
After extraction, the system determines if the envelopes are empty before discarding them into the system's trash container. If any contents remain in an envelope after other elements have been extracted, all of the pieces are automatically reunited for special handling. Empty envelopes are automatically discarded while envelopes containing a document are passed through the document orientation detect. The documents are then sent to the stacker section.
Once the documents have been extracted they are sent to preparation for staple and paper clip removal and then onto scanning and data processing.
Mail Extraction / Processing Services include:
Envelope Opening -by Three-Sided Cutting
Content Extractor - Removing documents from the envelops
Extractor Verifier - re-verifies no contents remain in the envelops after initial extraction
Content Reunite: - Ensures accurate processing by reuniting the contents of the envelope in an outsort bin should there be an unsuccessful extraction due to excess glue or contents stuck under the envelope flap, or pieces taped to the Envelope.
In-Line Sorter / Envelope Qualifier: - Includes Thickness Detector that offers identification of extra correspondence, folded checks and similar items that are considered "exceptions;" these are outsorted for processing at another station
Includes Metal Detector that detects coins, staples, paper clips and any other ferrous metallic objects; these are outsorted for processing at another station.
Mailroom Operation Center / e-Distribution Service:
Once the incoming mail process is complete it can be sent through our "Mail e-Distribution Center". The Mail e-Distribution Center will eliminate your physical mailroom functions and operations 100% by turning your (hardcopy) physical mail into electronic documents and email them right to your PC. FPI will identify each individual document (image), index it with the associated individual (Employee / division) and then email it to the predetermined email address stored in the FPI email system.
