Classes:
Ed teaches classes he calls called "Fun With Drum Circles" for beginners and intermediate players. The classes are for beginner to intermediate. The idea is to help people figure out how to have fun in a drum circle. It's for djembe, ashiko and dun dun primarily incorporating the West African styles and the modern American rhythmaculture styles. Ed incorporates the use of bells, shakers, dunduns, Boomwhackers and claves too. Participants learn how to hit the drum, how to tune them, some traditional rhythms, how other percussion instruments can fit in, etc. Mostly, Ed tries to help people to experience making their own improvised music, and entrain with others and get people to the "magic place" where all are playing together and it's music. It's SO uplifting, dontcha know!
If you have a place for classes and four or more players, lessons can be arranged for $15 per person an hour. (Negotiable for larger groups.) That includes the use of Ed's drums.
