FM History Profile: WXFX

History:

Started off as a class A station on 95.3 with the WQIM calls. It played a combination of AC, oldies and recent nostalgia. The station switched to an black contemporary format for a short time before the frequency and power change came. On the first day of the new frequency it changed to rock and has been "The Fox" ever since. The station has, in the summer of 2006, applied for a change to their facilities, from a 50kW station at about 476 ft from a Pratville sited tower to one in the city of Montgomery (east) with just 5400 watts at over 1,000 ft.
