History:
Put on the air in 1950 as WMSL-FM by WMSL-AM. Became WHOS-FM in the late 50's. For a long time, the station was part of a simulcast with another lower power local FM licesened to Meridianville. The calls were WWXQ (the other station was WXQW), oldies formatted as "WXQ, Cool 92/94".
This station was sold to Cumulus from Clear Channel in 2005 as part of a big shake up of the radio dial in the Tennessee Valley. WWXQ began simulcasting WVNN-AM after WLAY-FM (now WQRV) moved to Huntsville, from Tuscumbia, in April 2006. The calls also changed to WVNN-FM.
