History:

This station was put
on the air in the early 90's as an FM companion to WASG AM 550 in Atmore.
The AM was country, the FM adult contemporary. This combo was one of the
few facilities in the nation owned by Native Americans. The AM has since
gone silent and the country format moved to FM. The station is LMA'd with
WBCA AM, Bay Minette. Late fall 2001 and Eagle 105.9 and country are out;
rhythmic oldies and The Boss are in. This format was last heard in SW Alabama
on, WQUA-FM in Citronelle. Summer of 2002 has the station going back to
classic country, but keeping The Boss as a moniker. They're still simulcasting
with WBCA at this point. In early 2005, the calls changed to WNSI-FM and
the station began simulcasting with WNSI-AM Robertsdale, with a sports
talk and news format. At some point the LMA ended.
