History:
-
This station started
off as WMHS-FM (Montgomery's Heart and Soul) with a combination of gospel
and urban oldies. The station went to oldies as Cool 104.3; the calls changed
to WQLD. The station has scored some of WBAM's "All American" jocks from
the 60's. After the switch the oldies were primarily from the late 50's
through early 70's, but in early 2003 the format was tweaked to just 60's
and 70's oldies.
-
In November 2004 it
has been reported the station has flipped to all Christmas music in preperation
for the holidays. Rumor had it the station would drop oldies after the
holiday season and return as an FM news-talk outlet. The calls were a clue:
News Talk Montgomery fit nicely.
-
After the holiday season
the station flipped to black gospel with Clear Channel's successful "Hallelujah"
format.
This station has a changing name on RDS capable radios: "HALLELUJ | 104.3
| ELUJAH | HITS | FM #1FOR"
