The Man in the Mask

For each individual that knows me,
I wear a Mask.
I won’t take it off.
Each Mask is different,
No two people know me the same way.
What am I hiding, so deep in my mind.. my heart?
It’s been so long that even I no longer know.

The mirror is my enemy.
When I look into it’s silvery surface,
It looks back at me with eyes that are not my own.
My true self is lost in the illusion, perhaps forever.
The time has come..
In which the truths cause more harm
Than the Masks that conceal them ever could.

Now I Can’t take it off.
The Masks have become a part of me.
I’m no longer myself. Who am I now...
